My Job

Well, this is going to be a quickie, because I have to leave in a little over 1o minutes, but here goes anyway. After 2 weeks of job hunting, I finally met with some success. What first happened was that I got hired at the local McDonald's. I wasn't exactly thrilled at the prospect of making hamburgers all day, but you gotta do what you gotta do, as far as summer jobs go. The computer orientation was just about the most stupid thing I've ever been subjected to - little cartoon characters describing in painstaking detail how to mop a floor. Well, after emerging, scarred for life, from that orientation, a friend of mine from church suggested that I try to get a job at a mortgage company owned by a mutual friend of ours, doing stuff like filing, copying, data entry, etc. Having had some experience with this stuff helping my Mom out with her job at church, I said that was a good idea. A few days later I was hired there. I was, needless to say, quite glad to be rescued from McDonald's. I'm doing a full-time job, 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday, with weekends off, and had my first day yesterday. It went pretty well, all in all. Hopefully it will continue to go smoothly.
