Blessed Easter!
Allow me to begin my Easter post with a quote from one of my favorite chants, Victimae Paschali Laudes: "Scimus Christum surrexisse a mortuis vere: tu nobis victor Rex, miserere." (For picky people, the version I have has an accent over the 'i' in 'surrexisse', over the 'o' in 'mortuis', and over the second 'e' in 'miserere'. I tried to type them using my symbols typing guide, but this keyboard simply will not do it.) Anyhow, in English it says, "We know that Christ is truly risen from the dead; O Victorious King, have mercy on us."
Easter for me was truly beautiful this year. All of Holy Week, actually, was exceptionally nice. I sing in our church choir, as well as occasionally filling in on the organ when our organist is gone, and we sang on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday (at the Easter Vigil), and Easter Sunday. Most of what we sang was Gregorian chant, polyphony, and traditional hymns (Jesus Christ is Risen Today; This Joyful Eastertide), and it was simply beautiful. One of my personal favorite parts of the Easter Vigil Mass is the Gloria. We sing the Latin Gloria from the Mass of the Angels, and last night during that we all rang bells. It's so joyful to sing the Gloria after having skipped it through all of Lent, and then with the organ and bells it's even more beautiful. Practically makes me cry with happiness every time. Another favorite is the hymn "This Joyful Eastertide." It's very triumphant and victorious and...well...joyful! The first two lines go like this: "This joyful Eastertide, away with sin and sorrow! My Love the Crucified hath sprung to life this morrow!" If I were to list all the songs I really liked from Holy Week, the list would be rather long, but those are two of my especial favorites. I can only pray that all of my Holy Weeks will be as nice as this one has been.
In closing, I'd just like to wish you all a very happy Easter, and may the risen Christ bless each and every one of you!

Way to go, Sanchez! It's about time we had some more latin in this world.
I spent the latter half of Holy Week missionizing in Sacramento, and sat through an Easter Vigil mass in Spanish. My head.
I can completely sympathize with you, Joe. One time my family mistakenly went to an Immaculate Conception Mass in Spanish. It was...interesting. But yeah, I really like the Latin chants and everything.
