The Last Couple Months

Yes, yes, I know, it's been forever since I wrote anything. I do apologize; life has been very busy here at TAC. Especially now that we're in finals week. I had my theology final yesterday, and I think it went fairly well. There were three essay questions, and all together I managed to write 10 pages worth of stuff in answer to them. Now let's just hope the stuff I wrote was intelligent enough to get me a passing grade... Today we freshmen don't have a final, but tomorrow (Wed) is seminar, the next day is lab, and Friday is philosophy. And then on Saturday I get to come home for Christmas break! Whee! But until then, pray that finals go well. I'm one of the less talkative people in section, and so I hear that more emphasis will go on the finals.

We've had a couple of big dances since last I updated. The first was on Halloween. I have to admit it was kind of a disappointment. There wasn't a lot of dancing going on, and...I don't know. It just wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. I was talking to Michelle, one of the seniors here, and she said that it was the worst formal she'd seen in all of her four years here. So I guess I wasn't the only one. We dressed up in costumes, though, and that part was fun. I wore a medieval (I hope that's how you spell it) dress, which I borrowed from a friend, and it was really pretty. Maybe sometime I can get pics up here. The Christmas dance was the Saturday before this last one, and it was *much* better than the Halloween one. I danced...I forget how many times, and it was just a blast. The entertainment was awesome, too. Speaking of entertainment, I've bought a couple of DVD's, on which are contained almost all, if not all, of the TAC movies that were made during the first semester. Perhaps some of you can see them when I'm home if circumstances permit.

The TAC choir also had its Advent Concert the Friday before last, and since I'm an alto in the choir, I was in it! It was a lot of fun. Practices started getting longer about a month before the concert - instead of going from 3:45 to 5, we were going from 3:45 to almost 6! Mr. Grimm (our director) was being very particular about our phrasing, pronunciation, etc., and also about the way the orchestra was playing, but it all paid off in the end with a truly glorious rendition of Bach's cantata 142 (in German) and Vivaldi's Gloria. The following Sunday some of us choir people went over to the Grimms' house for a dinner party and celebrated a successful first semester of choir. :) I hear that for our spring concert we're going to be doing a musical: Gilbert and Sullivan's "Pirates of Penzance." Awesomeness!

And to speak of dancing again, one of the juniors, Dan Selmeczy (who took lessons from a professional dancer for a whole year), is organizing a TAC ballroom dancing team to go and compete with other big schools sometime next semester. I think it would be great fun, but I don't know if I could find any guy to be my partner. There aren't an exceedingly great number of guys around here that are really into that sort of thing, and those that are already seem to have picked out their favorite girl to dance with long before now. Oh well, the dances around here are plenty fun for me.

Anyway, I have to go review some lab and philosophy, as I'm getting together with my study group later this afternoon to go over stuff. God Bless you all!

Shame, shame. You used the "awesome" word twice and you were not referring to God or God's handiwork. Do try to be better about this in future.

We can't wait to see you on Saturday.

Love you, princess!

Mr. Sanchez, I would argue that everything is at least indirectly God's handiwork, and therefore worthy of praise and the bestowing of the word "awesome".

The entertainment very well could've been awesome. Perhaps God sent down a thousand angels to sing for a but a single moment to the denziens of the Christmas dance. That would've been awesome. Since she didn't specify what the entertainment was, I can only imagine that she was justified in her use of the word.

And do I really need to defend the Pirates of Penzance? I think God's hand in that production would be apparent to all. It is truly awesome.

*wink*

Well, I *do* apologize for saying it. I'm sure you know after two days with me that I've sort of picked it up. I suppose I could try to drop it again.
