Ah, More Poetry

But this time, I've decided to put up a small sampling of one of my forays into the category known as "romantic sonnets." This particular one has remained untitled (well, not really, but the title I finally thought up sounds rather ridiculous), and describes a sort of ideal, rather than anyone in particular (cause their ain't nobody that fits this description for me right now). Anyway, I hope it's not too terribly sappy...

Gentle kindness, friendliness and cheer,
A warm embrace to show that you are here.
Words of charity, a helping hand,
An ear to listen and to understand.
A shoulder strong I know that I can cry on,
A faithful friend I know I can rely on.
A soul that's filled with holiness and grace,
Which shine forth from your sweet and blessed face.
A goodness that I never thought I'd see,
But which, my dear, you daily show to me.
A hand that I'd be proud to hold in mine,
For all the years the sun and moon shall shine.
A love I would be honored to possess,
Until we both go to eternal rest.

Hey Christina,

I'll probably write about it eventually...there's not a lot of time right now. Everything is crazy around here now cuz there's a forest fire in the hills pretty close to here and they're thinking they just might have to evacuate us in order to keep us from breathing too much smoke. The campus itself they think is safe from any danger of burning; it's just the smoke they're worried about. I really hope we don't have to leave, though.
